Dasyboarmia subpilosa Warren comb. n.
Hemerophila subpilosa Warren, 1894, Novit. zool. 1: 434.
Hemerophila canidorsata instigata Prout, 1929, Bull. Hill Mus. Witley, 3: 41.
Menophra subpilosa Warren; Sato, 1987 b: 253.
Diagnosis
This and the next species are very similar in facies but D. delineata* males have the hindwing secondary sexual hair tuft tinged black at the dorsum. In the male genitalia the valves of delineata are more triangular, the costal digitate processes more robust, outcurved, and the uncus narrower, more acute, the sides concave rather than convex, with the gnathus diagnostically quadrate; in the aedeagus vesica, half the dozen or so spines are longer than the rest in delineata but only one is longer in subpilosa. In the female genitalia the bursa is larger and more expanded distally in subpilosa, the basal zone of fluting produced to a greater extent within it, and also running basad to the ductus, whereas at the junction with the ductus in delineata there is a bulbous zone lacking strong sclerotisation and fluting.
