Diagnosis
This is a large yellow species that is variably irrorated and fasciated with pale reddish brown, the female with more diffuse and extensive irroration and additional irroration of pale grey. The fasciae are not dissimilar in their course and positioning to those of patularia, but the forewing medial is represented at the dorsum by a short black bar broken by a pale line along the anal vein.
