Cossedia altiproesei Holloway sp. n.

♂♂ 12-14mm.

The species is larger than proesei (11mm) but with similar facies.

However, the grey areas are generally browner and somewhat paler, and the yellow bands are slightly stronger in colour.

The genitalia resemble those of proesei.

BRUNEI: 1670m, Bukit Pagon, montane forest, Feb 1982 (Allen & Harman), BM noctuid slide 17401.

Paratypes

• 2♂♂ SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Exped. 1977-8 (J.D.Holloway et al.), Site 14, February, Camp 2.5, Mulu, 1000m. 413461, lower montane forest.

Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

All material is from montane forest at 1000m and 1670m.
