Diagnosis

See the previous species. The abdomen has rufous stripes laterally as in the next species, but not in ghosha. The facies of the upper side of the wings is much as in ghosha. The male genitalia have a narrower valve with the most dense setation central rather than apical. The anellus is much less scobinate. The female lacks a basal sclerotisation in the bursa, and the signum is an elongate band.

Geographical Range

Java, Borneo; New Guinea, Bismarcks (ssp promulgata).

Habitat Preference

Only a single Bornean female has been seen (slide 18719), from the Penrisen mountains of Sarawak. No altitude is given.
