Collix griseipalpis oblitera Prout, 1935, Novit. zool., 39: 228.

Diagnosis

This is a smaller, paler and more variegated species than the next but shares with it the presence of a submarginal row of white spots. The underside is more as in the previous two species, particularly rufidorsata, but the submarginal spots are weaker and the postmedials and discal ones larger.

Geographical Range

Taiwan; N.E. Himalaya (ssp. relocata); Peninsular Malaysia, Borneo (ssp. phaeochiton); Java (ssp. obliterata).

Habitat Preference

A single male from Pulo Laut represents the only Bornean record: it is probably therefore a lowland species as it is in Peninsular Malaysia.

Biology

The species has been reared from Trigonostemon (Euphorbiaceae), Ardisia (Myrsinaceae) and Allophylus (Sapindaceae) in Peninsular Malaysia (Prout, original description of phaeochiton; Yunus & Ho, 1980).
