Britha pactalis Walker

Hypena pactalis Walker, 1859, List Specimens lepid. Insects Colln Br. Mus., 16: 64.

Diagnosis

This and the next species have very similar facies as described in the generic account, but pactalis is slightly paler, browner, with narrower forewings, the postmedial usually more oblique, tending to converge more on the submarginal towards the costa. Males have less marked pectinations to the antennae and lack the longitudinal pale patch at one third from the dorsum in the centre of the wing that characterises biguttata Walker.

Geographical range

Indian Subregion, China, Taiwan, Borneo, Sulawesi.

Habitat preference

This is probably a lowland species but is represented by only old material from Pulo Laut and Sarawak.
