Diagnosis
may be distinguished from Bornean material of the next two species by the blackish suffusion of the hindwing (on both surfaces). The basal black markings of the forewing are more distinctly double. The forewing postmedial is more entire and stronger at the dorsum on the underside.

Habitat Preference
The species is abundant in a range of lowland forest types and is rarely encountered above 1000m.
