Diagnosis and taxonomic note
The dull, dark, purplish red forewings with white markings distally, in combination with white hindwings with a grey apex, are distinctive.
The forewing submarginal white dots follow a similar course to the dark ones in frontalis; the male genitalia also share the generic features.
Geographical range
Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Borneo.
Habitat preference
The single Bornean specimen seen was taken at Samarinda in the lowlands of Kalimantan.
