Arguda pseudovinata van Eecke, 1929, Zool. Meded. Mus. Leiden, 12: 41, syn. n.
Arguda rectilinea Hampson; Lajonquière, 1977b: 176 (pseudovinata treated as distinct species on p. 178).

Diagnosis
The two oblique fasciae of the forewing are parallel or diverge slightly towards the dorsum; in vinata Moore and the next species they converge.
The submarginal is sinuous, crenulate, with paler colour grading away distad from the dark lunules; in vinata and insulindiana this line is not crenulate or edged paler, and resembles the other two fasciae.
Taxonomic Notes
Dissection of Bornean and Sumatran material has indicated that the male genitalia are somewhat variable in the shapes of the cubile processes and thus are probably all attributable to rectilinea. Javan specimens have only weak scobination in the aedeagus vesica, well separated ventral process of the cubile, and a subbasal spur to the triangular lower dorsolateral process; they probably represent a distinct species.
Geographical range
Burma, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat preference
All specimens have been taken in lowland forest in Brunei.
