Ommatophorini

This tribe is characterised by the features of its only included genus. The ocellar mark of the forewing is probably homoplastic relative to those in the Erebini and Hypopyrini, having a different construction. Features of the male and female abdomen are generally more as in the preceding groups but share no obvious synapomorphies with any of them, though several indicate membership of the core catocalines.
