Yashmakia orsinephes Prout comb. n.
Synegia orsinephes Prout, 1928, Bull. Hill Mus., Witley, 2: 56.
Diagnosis
The almost circular rippled grey patch just distad from the forewing discal spot distinguishes this species from congeners and others in related genera.
Taxonomic Notes
The angulation of the wings and the transversely linear forewing discal spot are as in **Yashmakia, as is the ornamentation of the aedeagus vesica. The valve, however, has an elongate corema, two costal processes and a very much more basal peg seta. The uncus base is narrow. On balance, combination with Yashmakia rather than Parasynegia seems preferable.
Geographical Range
Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
Two Bornean specimens are from lowland alluvial or swampy forest, one is from lower montane forest (G. Mulu) and one from upper montane forest (Bukit Retak, 1618m).
