Diagnosis

This is a robust, rather translucent-winged, pale bone-coloured species with faint, darker brown suffusion and fasciation on the forewing. The hindwing is whiter with brown suffusion at the tornus, and all wings have a row of black dots in the spaces between the veins.

Geographical range

Sundaland.

Habitat preference

All records are montane: two specimens from each of 1050m and 1090m on G. Kinabalu, one from 1600m on G. Emas in the Crocker Range (Martini & Thony, 1993) and three from 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei.

Biology

Holloway (1976) noted that the adult, when in flight, made a high-pitched squeak like a bat.
