Geographical range

Sumatra and Borneo to Solomons.

Habitat preference

T. rhesus appears to be rare, the four specimens being taken at altitudes from 250m to 1200m.

Taxonomic Note

Vaglia et al. (2010) have separated populations of the T. rhesus complex east of Weber’s Line as a distinct species, T. insularis Swinhoe. They also described a distinct species in the complex from the Philippines, T. acuta Vaglia & Liyous.
