Diagnosis

This and the next species are very similar, distinguished by Holloway (1982)

T. viridiluteata* Walker has a broad, uniform, reddish brown border to the male hindwing below, whereas in rafflesii this is narrower, distally bidentate, separated from the margin by a yellow zone. Females of both species approximate to the former state and cannot be distinguished on facies. The forewing underside is more heavily marked and suffused with brown and mauve in viridiluteata. In the male genitalia the harpe is shorter in rafflesii, apically acute rather than spatulate.
