Diagnosis

This is the darkest of the three species; the forewing fasciae are distinct.

Geographical range

Philippines (Mindanao), Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra.

Habitat preference

This species has been taken infrequently in lowland forest, perhaps with some preference for heath and swamp forest.

Taxonomic Note

The mainland extension of S. lanaoensis is through ssp. continentalis Zolotuhin & Witt (2000a) from Vietnam, Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia (Zolotuhin & Pinratana, 2005: 111).
