Taxonomic Notes
This is the only species with peg-like setae on the valve. The female type is atypical, having what appears to be teratological sclerotisation at the base of the bursa. The male genitalia in maculosata (N.E. Himalaya) are identical, but the wings consistently have broad dark grey patches subtornally on both wings and a smaller patch at the centre of the margins, indicating subspecific status.
Geographical Range
Borneo; N.E. Himalaya.
Habitat Preference
Though commonest in the lower montane zone, the species also occurs in upper montane forest and more sporadically in the lowlands.
