Stenocarsia sthenoptera Swinhoe

Diagnosis
The build and facies is reminiscent of that of Hypospila, Tocharaand the next genus, but the wings are a darker, blackish brown and have more obscure, irregular fasciae rather than straight ones. The forewings are relatively narrow, and the reniform is picked out slightly paler.
Geographical range
India, Borneo.
Habitat preference
This is an uncommon species of lowland forest, including heath forest, not recorded above 200m. However, Chey (1994) recorded several specimens in softwood plantations, particularly those of Acacia mangium, in the lowlands of Sabah.
