Geographical Range

N. E. Himalaya, Sundaland.

Habitat Preference

The species is infrequent to frequent in a variety of forest types from the lowlands to 2000 m.

Taxonomic Note

S & P stated that typical S. virens was restricted to Sundaland and that ssp. watsoni Schintlmeister was found over the rest of the mainland Asian range.
