Diagnosis

The males of arcuata have the forewing distinctively modified, both in shape and venation (Fig. 11). The undescribed sister-species, flying in Sulawesi and New Guinea, has the male unmodified.

In both sexes forewing vein R1 anastomoses with the areole to enclose a triangular space; albigrisea does not show such anastomosis.

Geographical range

N.E. Himalaya, Sundaland, Philippines.

Habitat preference

The species has been taken infrequently in lowland, lower and upper montane forest types.
