Geographical range

Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra (ZSM), N.E. Himalaya, Burma, S. & W. China; Java (ssp. cilicoides).

Habitat preference

The original material, collected by A.R. Wallace in Sarawak, was probably from a lowland locality.

The only other Bornean specimens are from upper montane forest at 1790m on G. Mulu and three old ones without altitude data from G. Kinabalu.
