Diagnosis

The species is larger than its congeners.

There is a mauve-pink tone to the uniform grey forewings which are traversed by indistinct, fine, rufous fasciae; the hindwings are hyaline over the basal half, a character not seen in other species.

The ventral process to the uncus is relatively short, apically notched.

Geographical range

Sundaland, Sulawesi, New Guinea, Solomons.

Habitat preference

All recent specimens have been taken in lowland localities such as Semongok near Kuching, Sarawak, and Seria and Labi in Brunei.

Two were taken in dry heath forest (kerangas) at Telisai in Brunei and one in wet kerangas during the Mulu survey.
