Diagnosis
The two species in this genus are very similar in appearance, with formosa being slightly smaller and more uniform.
In carissima Wileman & West the medial zone of the forewing is distinctly blackened.
In the male genitalia, also very similar, the aedeagus vesica diverticulum with many spines has about ten straight ones in formosa and about four or five longer, curved ones in carissima; the diverticulum itself is longer in formosa.
Geographical range
Burma (Tenasserim), Singapore, Sumatra, Bali, Borneo.
Habitat preference
Bornean material seen is restricted to a series of five specimens taken in mangrove in the Bay of Brunei.
