Diagnosis
The species is distinguished primarily by the prominent palps.
The forewings are narrower, more apically acute than in other purplish or reddish brown species like Argyrogramma signata and ‘Plusia’ nigriluna.
Habitat preference
Only one Bornean specimen has been located, taken in the G. Mulu area by Hose.
Biology
The species has been reared from Mikania, an introduced member of the Compositae, in Peninsular Malaysia (CIE records).
Geographical range
Oriental tropics and eastwards to New Guinea.
