Plusiodonta calcaurea Holloway sp. n.
♂♂, ♀♀ 15-18mm. This is a slightly larger species than coelonota, distinguished by the more extensive reflective golden areas on the forewing; these do not show significant sexual dimorphism in their extent. Particular features relative to coelonota are much broader blocks near the tornus and subbasally on the costa. In the male genitalia, the distal process of the valves appressed to the apex is singular, more digitate, straight, and the interior saccular process is larger and more robust than in coelonota. The aedeagus is very much larger and has a thorn-like spine at the apex. The vesica is also larger with a longer distal diverticulum that is much more coarsely spined over its apex. In the female, the eighth segment, ductus and bursa are all more elongate, the ductus narrower and the bursa more pyriform and therefore distinctly broader.

Taxonomic note
The concept ofcoelonota here is based on a study of type material two of its synonyms as listed by Poole (1989) and Nielsenet al*. (1996): *chalsytoides Guenée andconducensWalker. However,coelonotais associated erroneously withOraesia emarginata Fabricius (as a junior synonym) in the BMNH collection and card index, and was not noted as a senior synonym ofchalsytoidesby Nye (1975).

Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia.
Habitat preference
Most material is from montane habitats and on or near limestone.*
