♂ (holotype)

Parallelia pilosa Holloway sp. n.

♂ 22mm. The forewings are a rich brown with distinctly rufous pilosity basal to a white orbicular stigma. The trapezoidal mark is present, but pale grey with white edging and irregular in shape; a row of faint whitish dots on the veins extends submarginally from its most posterior extremity, probably the postmedial, with an even fainter submarginal just distal to it, the space between them a slightly richer brown, the two fasciae diverging slightly towards the dorsum. The hindwings are a similar shade of brown to the forewing but darker. The margins of the wings grade narrowly paler to the fringes. The male genitalia show some resemblance to those of the “Parallelia” rigidistria group (see above). The coremata on the valves are double and the genitalia have bilateral symmetry, suggesting possible relationship to Bastilla, despite the unusual facies. The costal process of the valve is deeply bifurcate, the bifurcations slender, curved, pincer-like as in some members of the rigidistriagroup and Bastilla amygdalis Moore (p. 65). The aedeagus is gently curved as in that group, with a small but convolute vesica.
