Geographical Range

Borneo, Sumatra.

Habitat Preference

The unique Bornean specimen was taken in upper montane forest. The Sumatran specimen is from around 2000m on G. Kerinchi. The species is named for Philip Leworthy whose mechanical skills fixed many equipment problems during the Mulu survey.

Taxonomic Note

Solovyev (2005) has reviewed the genus Mahanta Moore, showing that the Bornean species, leworthyi Holloway, extends north into the Asian mainland. This work has also increased the number of known species in the genus to eight.
