Diagnosis
See the generic description. Males are smaller, slightly darker on the forewing and have a mostly dark greyish hindwing rather than a pure yellow one, though the border is narrowly yellow.
Geographical Range
Peninsular Malaysia, S. Burma (Tenasserim), Sumatra, Borneo.
Habitat Preference
The species has been recorded infrequently from the lowlands to 1790m.
Biology
Barlow (1982) described the larva as pale tawny brown, hairy, with a pale yellow head. There is a dark dorsal mark on A1, and dark tufts laterally. Pupation is in a moderately dense but roomy cocoon spun in a leaf of the host- plant. The pupa is brown. The host-plant is Leea (Leeaceae).
