Diagnosis

♂♂ 17-18mm. The wings and body are pale dull orange, the abdomen and dorsal half of the hindwings suffused pink, and the patagia strongly edged in pink. The forewing fasciae are as illustrated, the antemedial only weakly angled, the postmedial separate, sinuous, usually weak or broken opposite the discal area. Kinabalu material (not included in the type series) is paler, usually with a submarginal spot distal to the break in the postmedial. The male genitalia are typical of the group. Other pale orange or yellow species (biseriata Moore, Andamans; kannegieteri Rothschild, N. Nias*; flavens* Moore, N.E. Himalaya) have the forewing antemedial more angled and variable development of black spotting on the hindwing. *Holotyped ♂*SARAWAK: Gunong Mulu Nat. Park, R.G.S. Geographical range

Borneo.

Habitat preference

On G. Kinabalu the species was frequent from 1500m (Mesilau Plateau) to 1930m (Power Station). On G. Mulu it was frequent in upper montane forest at just below 1800m.
