Diagnosis

This is the smallest straw-coloured species in Borneo, with very prominent black discal dots on both wings, but very little other fasciation. There are blackish dots on the veins at the margin. The hind-tibial scent-pencil is ochreous straw colour. The male genitalia are unmistakable, the valves highly modified as illustrated.

Taxonomic Notes

The second sternite is broadly rugose and scaled. All type material is male, showing the unusual genitalic features illustrated. The genitalia of a putative female, collected by A.R. Wallace, are also illustrated.

Geographical Range

Borneo.

Habitat Preference

The only specimen taken in recent surveys was from mixed dipterocarp forest at 150m at the foot of G. Mulu. The holotype of mimica is from Penungah in Sabah and the holotypes of damnata and indotaria are probably from the lowlands of Sarawak (A.R. Wallace material).
