Diagnosis
The pattern of dark brown markings on the fawn forewing is distinctive, particularly in the area distal to the postmedial where a series of streaks anteriorly gives way posteriorly to an oblique line that runs to the dorsal angle.
Biology
Yunus & Ho (1980) record the larva (as Philenora lauta) from Coffea (Rubiaceae), but this, for reasons given in the Introduction (see Introduction), should be treated with caution; see also Meteugoa obliquiata Hampson below.
