Biology
Piepers & Snellen (1904) noted the larva to be covered in pale grey hairs which were incorporated in a transparent cocoon. The pupa was formed vertically within the cocoon, itself formed on the side of a box; the adult emerged a week after pupation. The larva was full-grown when found, so the diet was not noted. Unpublished FRIM and IIE records note the larva on the leaves of Acacia mangium (Leguminosae), but possibly it was grazing on lower plants growing on these.
