Diagnosis

This species can be distinguished from congeners by the very close proximity of the forewing postmedial to the margin.

Geographical Range

Indian Subregion, Borneo, Sumatra, Java.

Habitat Preference

Records during the Mulu survey were all from lowland forest, but a specimen has been taken at 1620m and another at 1930m on G. Kinabalu.

Biology

The larva has been reared by Mr Chey Vun Khen and staff at the Forest Research Centre, Sepilok. It is slender, the body white, the head, first thoracic segment and anal segment and clasper yellowish brown. The body is invested with a regular pattern of black spots and diamonds that are larger over the central (A1 to A6) section. The host-plant was Acacia mangium (Leguminosae), an important exotic softwood.
