Diagnosis

The species bears some resemblance to Arrhapa frontalis (p. 129) in the rather uniform, irregularly fasciated forewings, but these are browner, less pink, and the submarginal row of dark dots is irregular in course, not distinctly triarcuate.

The male antennae are bipectinate as in other members of the Gelastocera complex.

Taxonomic Notes

Sundanian material has slightly different ornamentation to the sock-like aedeagus vesica: the spines in the cluster at the apex are smaller; the more basal small cluster of the typical race is absent.

Geographical range

N.E. Himalaya; Sundaland.

Habitat preference

Bornean material is limited to a single female from 400m in dipterocarp forest, Ulu Temburong, Brunei.
