Beara castanea Moore, 1879, Descr. new Indian lepid. Insects Colln W.S. Atkinson: 71.
Gelastocera castanea Moore; Kobes, 1997: 78.
Diagnosis
The species bears some resemblance to Arrhapa frontalis (p. 129) in the rather uniform, irregularly fasciated forewings, but these are browner, less pink, and the submarginal row of dark dots is irregular in course, not distinctly triarcuate.
The male antennae are bipectinate as in other members of the Gelastocera complex.
