Eutane nivea Hampson, 1905, Ann. Mag. nat. Hist. (7), 15 : 439.
Diagnosis and taxonomic note
The facies is mostly satiny white, the forewings with a black discal dot.
The straight forewing margin, with ochreous and dull brown marking, including a projection basad at one-third from the dorsum, are distinctive.
The male genitalia have little in common with typical *Eutane.*The uncus is a slender rod, the valves are tapering, basally very much expanded, the saccus has a distinctive projection, and the aedeagus vesica is extensively but sparsely scobinated, with a sclerotisation of the ductus ejaculatorius.
The female has rather square ovipositor lobes, a moderate, straight, sclerotised ductus bursae that opens subbasally and slightly laterally into a large, pyriform corpus bursae, the surface of which is finely invested with shallow pimples throughout.
