Eumelea unilineata Warren

Eumelea unilineata Warren, 1897, Novit. zool., 4 : 387.

Diagnosis

Females have a yellow ground colour, males a dark brick orange.

Both sexes have the wings finely and evenly striated with pink.

The wings are thus paler and more uniform than in the preceding species, the postmedial fasciae diagnostically straight, that of the forewing oblique, contiguous with that in the hindwing.

There are no submarginals.

The underside is similar but more coarsely striate and with an indication of a punctate submarginal on the hindwing.

Taxonomic Notes

The male genitalia are very similar to those of feliciata, but the facies differences and sympatry indicate unilineata is probably a distinct species.

The uncus is apically deeper in unilineata.
