India, Burma, Sundaland, Sumbawa, Philippines, Sulawesi, Seram.
Habitat preference
All records are from lowland forest, none above 500m, and the species appears to occur more in disturbed and secondary forest than costristriga, though it was never as common as the latter in such habitats in the samples made in Sabah by Chey (1994).
