Image of Ecpatia ovifera Holloway

Ecpatia ovifera Holloway sp. n.

♂♂ 12mm.

The facies is similar to that of longinquua and the previous species except there is a more distinct, circular, diffusely bordered white patch between the reniform and the curvature of the postmedial on the forewing.

The male genitalia are similar in the shape of the valves and length of the coronal spines to obscura, but the harpe is more robust as in longinquua. However, the valves are distinguished by presence of an elongate, ovate lobe over the base of the valve costa.

The peniculus lobes are rounded as in obscura. The aedeagus vesica is more elongate than in obscura and the small cornutus, though present, lacks a broad base.
