Diagnosis
The male antennae are bipectinate as in the next species, but the forewings are greyer, slightly rufous in the male and purplish in the female. A high proportion of specimens has black within the forewing cell basal to both stigmata. The reniform lacks the marked posterior darkening of that of the next species. The forewing lacks the fine submarginal yellow line of the first two species described.

India, W. China, Borneo.
Habitat preference
The species is known from G. Murud in Sarawak and from G. Kinabalu where it ranges from 2110m to 3150m, commonest at 2600m.
