Habitat Preference

Bornean records are limited to a single worn male taken in alluvial forest at Long Pala (50 m) in the G. Mulu National Park, Sarawak.

Biology

The larva of the related C. transecta was described by Hampson (1904 J. Bombay nat. Hist. Soc. 16: 150). The larva is grey-brown with humps on abdominal segments 1 and 8 that are dark brown and contain two pale red tubercles in a red patch. There is a broad dorsal dirty-white line that is interrupted by the humps. There are white patches on each side of the anterior hump and lateral and sublateral series of yellow-brown tubercles, a pale line occurring above the lateral series. The head is dark brown and the whole larva is clothed with whitish hair. Pupation is in a cocoon spun amongst leaves of the food-plant, Salix.
