Chrysograpta igneola Swinhoe
Egnasia igneola Swinhoe, 1890, Trans. ent. Soc. Lond. 1890: 254.
Diagnosis
The facies is similar to that of some Pangrapta species but is distinguished by the ochre and grey triangular wedge subapically on the forewing costa and by the multiple, sinuous dark fasciation of the hindwing, defined by absence of mauve suffusion on a black ground.
Geographical range
Burma, Thailand (VK), Borneo, Sumatra (HS / K).
Habitat preference
The only specimens seen are two from lowland forest at 300m in the Ulu Temburong of Brunei.
Taxonomic Note
A larva of Chrysograpta igneola in Peninsular Malaysia (H.S. Barlow, pers. comm.) was found forming a cocoon under flakes of bark on a short section of stout twig under a Gardenia (Rubiaceae) bush, but this cannot be confirmed as the host plant.
