Chrysartona pravata Moore
Syntomis pravata Moore, [1860] 1858-1859, Cat. lepid. Insects Mus. E. Ind. Co., 2: 326.
Diagnosis
The grouping of four white patches transversely on the forewing, two antemedially and two postmedially, is not seen in other procridines or in similar syntomine arctiids, except for Trichaetoides divisura Walker amongst the latter (Holloway, 1988: 25-26); this has smaller hindwings that have only a single, basal transparent patch.
Taxonomic note
The hind-tibia lacks a medial spur in pravata; other species have a single one as well as the two apical ones.
Geographical range
Java, Sumatra, Borneo, Philippines (Luzon).
Habitat preference
Only two of seven Bornean specimens seen have precise data. They are from the 4th mile on Rock Road and from Kuching in Sarawak, both lowland localities.
