Chonopla tecta Lajonquière, 1979, Bull. Soc. ent. Fr . 84: 199.

Diagnosis

The colour and fasciation are as described in the generic account and as illustrated, a darker and less red brown than in modulata, the forewing apices more produced.

In the male genitalia the spur of the aedeagus is much shorter, the dorsal processes of the valves much more slender, even rather than slightly tapering, and with a greater, more even curvature over the basal half (the degree of curvature decreases evenly over the length in modulata); the cubile is triangular rather than parallel-sided.

Geographical range

Sumatra, Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia.

Habitat preference

The two Bornean specimens were taken in lowland rainforest.
