Diagnosis
Males of this and the next species can be distinguished by hindwing facies: in rubroviridis Warren the wing is relatively more reduced and darker grey scales are more clearly restricted to the basal half. Females of obturgescens have the forewing more strongly fasciated, the fasciae a blackish rather than yellowish brown. The postmedial is more clearly dentate, the antemedial more angled.
Taxonomic Notes
Both this and the next species have corematous pouches on tergite 5 as well as tergite 7.
Geographical Range
Borneo.
Habitat Preference
On G. Kinabalu the species ranges from 1500m to 2600m, being commonest at around 2000m. On G. Mulu it was frequent at around 1780m but was also one of the commoner species in the summit sample at 2360m.
