Taxonomic notes

A series of taxa spans the Indo-Australian tropics: C. cyanosticta Hampson comb. n. (S. India); C. lamprosticta; C. formosa Debauche comb. n. (Sulawesi, Seram); C. triangulifera Warren comb. n. (Sumba); C. plenimargo Warren comb. n. (New Guinea). They are all very similar in facies (with the exception of the rather uniformly pale brown triangulifera) and male genitalia. There is therefore a case for considering them all races of one widespread species, for which lamprosticta would be the oldest name.

Geographical range

N.E. Himalaya, Burma, Sumatra, Borneo.

Habitat preference

The two Bornean specimens seen were from lower montane forest on G. Mulu (1000m) and from 1500m near Tambunan, G. Kinabalu (in USNM).
