Diagnosis
The veins are picked out darker than the ground on either side of the two closely parallel oblique fasciae, distinguishing the species from other members of the bilinea group and from females in the bandura group.
Geographical Range
Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Sumatra.
Habitat Preference
The species has been taken in lowland localities such as Bidi and Kuching in Sarawak. Specimens from G. Kinabalu have no altitude data and could have been taken at the foot thereof. The two specimens taken during the Mulu survey were in alluvial forest (50m) and hill dipterocarp forest (150m).
Biology
The species has been reared from tea (Camellia, Theaceae) in Borneo (unpublished CIE record). The larva is similar to that of the Javan species mentioned above, and will be be described in greater detail by Cock, Godfray & Holloway (in press).
