Diagnosis
The ground colour is white, with extensive somewhat punctate fasciation in black. The postmedials are strongest, that of the forewing obtusely triangular, and on both wings edged by a slightly clearer white band distad.
Taxonomic Notes
No significant differences could be located between the genitalia of costalis and specimens with similar facies in Australia attributed to cissocosma. The taxa are therefore brought into synonymy.
Geographical Range
Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Borneo, Bali, Sulawesi, Seram, New Guinea, Queensland.
Habitat Preference
Prout (1932 c) noted a male from about 1600m on G. Kinabalu, and singletons have been taken more recently at about 900m near Kinabalu at Poring and at 300m in lowland forest of the Ulu Temburong in Brunei.
