Diagnosis
The basal dull yellow zone of the hindwing and the diffusely patterned rich dark brown forewing are distinctive.
The forewing pattern is variable, sometimes with a paler medial zone, sometimes with the oblique, dark subapical patches more prominent.
Geographical range
Borneo, Sumatra.
Habitat preference
The species was taken infrequently in mixed dipterocarp forest on the lower slopes of G. Mulu and in lowland forest on the lower slopes of the limestone G. Api.
In Brunei it has been taken in dry heath (kerangas) forest at Telisai.
