Diagnosis

The forewing facies is similar to that of the previous two species, except the black fasciation is more clearly and finely defined on paler grey, and the hindwing is a distinctly darker grey.

Taxonomic notes

This species has been placed in Aquita Walker (e.g. Poole, 1989), but has facies and male and female genitalic features more consistent with placement in Barasa, though the bursa of the female is much more lightly ornamented. More material being studied by the Budapest group shows some variation in facies and the shape of the harpe in the male genitalia; possibly more than one species is involved. Bornean material resembles theirs from Sumatra and Vietnam.

Geographical range

N.E. Himalaya, Burma, Borneo; the Budapest group material is from Thailand, Vietnam.

Habitat preference

During the Mulu survey the species was taken frequently in lowland alluvial forest and in forest on limestone at 250m.
