Attonda adspersa Felder & Rogenhofer
Felinia ? adspersa Felder & Rogenhofer, 1874, Reise öst. Fregatte Novara
Diagnosis
This species is larger than the type species and somewhat similar in size and facies to ‘Saroba’ maculicosta Walker (p. 341), with white dots within diffuse brown fasciation on a more rufous ground colour. However, it never has much stronger white triangles on the forewing costa as in maculicosta, and the postmedials are more regular in course, particularly on the hindwing. The male genitalia are very different, as illustrated. Taxonomic note. This species is characterised within the adspersa complex by its long, centrally flexed, apically tapering apex, a tongue-like distal portion to the valve, together with somewhat similar long, sinuous, slender costal and saccular processes.
