Diagnosis
Two Bornean species have the brick orange or red facies typical of the genus, but the dorsal part of the forewing postmedial is lunulate with faint yellow areas distad in scissuralis and straight in its congener. The lobe of the hindwing dorsum in the male of scissuralis is also more prominent.
Geographical range
Indian Subregion, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Borneo, Ambon, Seram, New Guinea, Queensland.
Habitat preference
Only five Bornean specimens have been noted: from the coast of Brunei at Seria; from 100m at Kalabakan in Sabah; from lowland forest in the Barito Ulu of Kalimantan Tengah; from 1618m on Bukit Retak in Brunei; from 1780m on G. Mulu.
